That the Saxton Field Hearings Panel 1. Confirms the minutes of the meeting of the Saxton Field Hearings Panel, held on 7 June 2024, as a true and correct record.

6. Deliberations on submissions in relation to proposed amendments to the Saxton Field Reserve Management Plan (alcohol advertising)
Document number R28537, agenda pages 8 - 138 refer.
Principal Parks and Facilities Activity Planner spoke to the report and highlighted the purpose of the report and changes he has made based on feedback from the previous meeting. He answered questions on feedback from Te Whatu Ora, alcohol sponsorship on players’ clothing, impact of the amendment to the policy and existing clauses covering panel’s expectations.
Councillor Daikee moved, seconded by Mr Shaw, an amended officer’s recommendation with additional reference to include of 4.8.1.3. Councillor Daikee explained the purpose of this motion was to accommodate low alcohol beverages in the venue during international games.
“…, and the following additional expectation 4.8.1.3: “Where temporary advertising of alcohol is permitted, a move to zero or low alcohol products (meaning beer, wine and mead with an alcohol content less than 1.15% ethanol by volume) will be encouraged”,…”

That the Saxton Field Hearings Panel 1. Receives the report Deliberations on submissions in relation to proposed amendments to the Saxton Field Reserve Management Plan (alcohol advertising) (R28537 and its attachments (196698121-57978 and 196698121-57920); and 2. Agrees having considered the written and oral submissions, that the proposed amendments to the Saxton Field Reserve Management Plan as set out in Attachment 2 (196698121- 57920) of Report R28537, and the following additional expectation 4.8.1.3: “Where temporary advertising of alcohol is permitted, a move to zero or low alcohol products (meaning beer, wine and mead with an alcohol content less than 1.15% ethanol by volume) will be encouraged”, provide appropriate wording for the alcohol policy in the Saxton Field Reserve Management Plan. |

Recommendation to the Joint Committee
The members discussed requesting the mayors of each council to write to New Zealand Cricket expressing the desire to retain international cricket within the region.
Councillor Rollo moved, seconded by councillor Skinner the officer’s recommendation to include a request to the Mayors.
There being no further business the meeting ended at 10.21a.m.
