Solid Waste, Matt Bruce, presented the report.
Mr Bruce answered questions
regarding the origin of requests for the proposed changes.

There was a discussion
regarding Schedule 4 – Special Parking Areas. Mr Bruce answered
questions regarding the proposed mobility parks outside the Nelson Centre of
Musical Arts, noting the request had come from residents in the area.
There was a discussion
regarding Schedule 7 – Resident Parking Spaces. Mr Bruce answered
questions regarding the criteria for establishing, and use of Resident
Parking Spaces, and the distribution of Resident Parking Spaces around the
city. Panel members expressed concern regarding creating exclusive-use
carparks, especially on a busy road such as Bridge Street.
There was a further discussion
regarding Schedule 9 – No Stopping and No parking Areas. Mr Bruce
answered questions regarding the reasons for establishing no stopping areas
at the ends of cul-de-sacs, and for the proposed installations of no stopping
lines at 99 Atawhai Drive and 177 Collingwood Street.
The Panel agreed to consider
the amendments to each schedule in turn.
