Minutes of a meeting of the Hearings Panel - Other

Held in the Ruma Marama, Civic House, 110 Trafalgar Street, Nelson

	Resolved HEA/2019/005
		That the Hearings Panel - Other 1.        Appoints Councillor Brian McGurk as Chairperson of this meeting.

	Resolved HEA/2019/006
		That the Hearings Panel - Other 1.        Receives and accepts an apology from Councillor Paul Matheson.

3.       Confirmation of Order of Business

There was no change to the order of business.

4.       Interests

There were no updates to the Interests Register, and no interests with items on the agenda were declared.

5.       Application for street naming of Bills Avenue in the Bishopdale Subdivision

Document number R10017, agenda pages 4 - 7 refer.

Discussion took place regarding the definition of ‘Avenue’ and possible alternative designations. ‘Avenue’ and ‘Lane’ were considered to be misleading due to the terrain of the particular site, the fact that the street was not a through road and with a narrow width. ‘Way’ was dismissed because it was traditionally used by Nelson City Council for naming private ways. The option considered most suitable was ‘Bills Drive’ most suitable. The resolution was amended and the motion taken in parts.
