Council Representative Reporting on External Organisations
Recommendation
THAT the reports from Council representatives on external organisations be noted.
Attached is a list of the appointments on which representatives may wish to report back.
It is anticipated that those reporting back speak for no longer than 5 -10 minutes in total.
A reminder that elected members appointed to external organisations have the following roles:
• Liaison: to be an interface between the Council and the organisation;
• Engagement: to involve people and organisations in the decisions that affect them; and
• Representation: to represent Council’s financial or other interests in an organisation.
Reports are anticipated to cover:
• Key issues relevant to the Annual Plan 2016/17
• Feedback on the relevance of the appointment and the ways it adds value
• Activities the organisations are undertaking in our community
